kaolin epk, metal pool

For eight hours, I sat in this metal pool lining the floor with kaolin epk. Beginning from the edges of the walls, I went around in a circle and towards the middle. In this metal pool I sat in silence, listening only to the sounds coming from the food forest around me. Eight hours was my body’s and my mental capacity that day. What initially began as what I expected to be a romantic venture exploring the rigor and commitment to allowing oneself rebuild- to go through the process of re-lining oneself into a new cycle- became an extremely unbearable task. Left overnight, the kaolin epk cracked as the water evaporated from them, feeling the tension between their body and the metal surface underneath as they shrunk in the drying process.
